PDFOptim is a user-friendly tool for compressing, optimizing, and reducing PDF documents on iPhones and iPads. It offers effective methods to compress large PDF files with heavy image and graphic content. The built-in side-by-side preview allows you to compare the original and compressed PDF files.

Compressed PDF documents require less storage space and lead to faster uploads and downloads, saving time and cost. PDFOptim efficiently rewrites the entire PDF document using selected compression options without compromising its integrity.

If your PDF documents are in another app (such as Mail, Dropbox, or SkyDrive) that uses the "Open In..." button, simply tap the button to open the PDF document in PDFOptim. You can also transfer PDF documents from your desktop computer to the PDFOptim application on your iPhone or iPad via iTunes.

• KEY FEATURES:
• AUTO COMPRESSION MODE: PDFOptim analyzes the contents of your document and applies an algorithm to generate the smallest possible PDF while maintaining visual quality. Choose from one of the four predefined auto compression methods and let the app do the hard work for you. No further user interaction is required regarding technical compression options.
• MANUAL COMPRESSION MODE:
  • Change compression options manually to generate a PDF of optimum size. You can customize compression options such as image color model, image resolution, JPEG image quality, optimization of vector graphics level, and advance options.
  • Select from RGB, Gray, or Mono for image color model. The Monochrome option converts raster PDF contents into black and white, greatly reducing the file size. This is particularly useful for compressing scanned books that mainly contain text.
  • Control the image resolution (ppi) to resize raster image contents. Downsampling at lower resolutions dramatically decreases the file size.
  • Set the quality from lossless to least to resample all raster images into PDF. This allows you to control the compressed PDF size and viewing quality.
  • Advanced options are available to remove PDF content properties such as alternate images, page thumbnails, document structure hierarchy, and output intent.
  • The "Optimize vector graphics" option removes unnecessary information to reduce the size of vector graphics-heavy PDF files. Increasing the optimization level from "Level 1" to "Level 5" gradually reduces the output PDF file size. This option is particularly effective for high-precision vector graphics found in PDF drawing, note-taking, and PDF markup apps.
• Password-protected PDF documents are supported for compression using the correct password.
• Single or multiple compressed PDFs can be shared as a single ZIP (*.zip) file.
• Compressed PDFs can be opened in other applications, sent via email or message, printed, or shared with nearby iOS devices using AirDrop.
• Use "Copy to iTunes" to save and share compressed PDFs on your desktop computer.

PDF VIEWER:

• An inbuilt PDF viewer with fully selectable and searchable text contents. Select and copy text to clipboard for further use.
• Pinch out and pinch in to zoom in and out of the view. Use the search feature to find a specific character, word, or sentence.
• Scroll through your document using the thumbnail view or the "Go to page" feature.

Note: PDFOptim is a standalone application that securely compresses PDF documents on your iOS device.
